First Anniversary, First Hurricane

Our first weekend in Puerto Rico marked our first anniversary. To celebrate, we waited out Hurricane Irene in our new apartment with a stock of water, candles and wine. We toasted to the wonderful year following our wedding celebration in Marine-on-St.Croix while the wind howled and shook the window panes. Evan kept his cool, but I was pretty scared between the hours of 1 and 3 am. 

The morning after, tops of palms, broken walls and bus shelters covered the walkways. Lines at the local liquor stores were out the door. People here know how to get through a crisis :)
